Does dark slate tiles look good around a dark pink bathtub, or still look outdated?

I'm all about character but save it for other areas of the house with not so high stakes. If you're going whole hog with materials like slate (nice choice btw), I would seriously consider replacing the pink tub and toilet too...I think it would look cheap not to, and send a message to future buyers that either you ran out of cash or time to complete the job. If you're trying to stretch your dollar, try other means instead like, a cheaper base tile with more expensive feature-wall or accent tile and shop around for the best deals on bathroom fixtures.
