Does anyone know any remedies or anything to cure this?

I have had a sore throat for 2 days or more. Today it is at it's worst. It even hurts on the outside of my throat, like when i turn my head. Is this normal? Does anyone have any cures that they have used themselves or heard of that actually work and are very effective? I've tried gargling salt water, honey and lemon, and gesic but nothing has changed. Thankyou
