My boyfriend is not gay but people think he is. How do I man him up in order to be proud in public with him?

I really love my boyfriend. Things are just a little comfusing. He cried when we had because it hurt me. He tends to cry in public at theaters in sappy movies. He cleans and cooks. I love his personality but I do not want to be the man in the relationship. I don't want to break up with him but I think that it might have to come to that. Help me.
