House still in in laws names and mother in law now saying house isn't outs!?
Did you make your payments directly to the mortgage company or did you make the payments to your in-laws and they made the payments? I don't know about the state of Texas, but in my state you can have a verbal contract of sale. But people don't use them because they don't provide any legal protection, especially considering the person you had a verbal contract with is now deceased. Your only hope is that you can prove that by making the payments directly to the mortgage company you had an agreement. Hopefully your mother in law will cool down after a few days and things can return to normal. Otherwise, I am afraid you have very little legal standing. BTW... did the property taxes come out of your escrow account with the mortgage or did you pay them seperately? May be another way of proving that you were paying for the house. Good Luck
