When playing as the Zerg in Starcraft in a 1v1, when do you start your expansions?

I've heard to start your first expansion at either 9 or 12 drones and I have really no clue as to when to start your second. Also, at how many units should you build your first overloard? When should you build a second hatchery(for the sole purpose of unit production) in your main?
