Whys my amp volume so low?

so, i have a pioneer 760 max watt. i have one infinity 10 in sub hooked up to it and one pioneer midrange speaker. the amplifier turns on but the volume is pitifully low.. at max volume its just audible. i already tried switching rca connections and i think all the wires are firm. any help?
